The Ministry of Economy, Industry and Commerce (MEIC) will hold an informational talk focused on the technical specifications and labeling requirements for holiday-related products such as decorative lights and electrical extensions. The event aims to inform participants about the standards these products must meet to ensure safety and consumer protection.

The free session is scheduled for Tuesday, November 25 at 10:30 AM and will be conducted online via Teams. Registration is required for those interested in attending.

According to MEIC, understanding product labeling helps consumers make safer choices during the holiday season when decorative lighting and extension cords are commonly used.

“Learn about the technical specifications and labeling that must be met by products associated with the holiday season, such as decorative lights and electrical extensions, with the aim of ensuring product safety and protecting consumers,” states the Ministry in its announcement.

This initiative reflects ongoing efforts by MEIC to raise awareness regarding consumer rights and product safety during periods of increased use of electrical items.
