The Ministerio de Hacienda de Costa Rica has recently used its official Twitter account to communicate key developments regarding the countryās financial planning and environmental commitments.
On August 29, 2025, the Ministry announced a renewed dedication to environmental financing, stating: “Costa Rica refuerza su compromiso para el cierre de la brecha de financiamiento en biodiversidad https://t.co/kVIslsVhGg”.
Subsequently, on September 1, 2025, two posts addressed the presentation of the national budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The first post read: “Presentación del Proyecto de Ley de Presupuesto Ordinario y Extraordinario le La RepĆŗblica para el Ejercicio Económico 2026

Shortly after, a second post specified that Minister Rudolf Lucke BolaƱos had delivered the budget proposal to lawmakers: “El ministro de Hacienda, Rudolf Lucke BolaƱos, entregó esta maƱana a la Asamblea Legislativa, el Proyecto de Ley del Presupuesto Ordinario y Extraordinario de la RepĆŗblica para el Ejercicio Económico 2026. https://t.co/jLhiDCa2PK”.
The submission of both ordinary and extraordinary budget bills is part of Costa Ricaās annual fiscal process. The government routinely prepares and presents these proposals to the Legislative Assembly as part of its efforts to ensure transparency and legislative oversight in public spending decisions. Environmental finance remains an ongoing priority for Costa Rica, which has previously been recognized for its biodiversity conservation initiatives and commitment to sustainable development.
