Ministerio de Hacienda de Costa Rica announces stricter customs controls and publishes TRIBU-CR tutorial

The Ministerio de Hacienda de Costa Rica published several updates on its official Twitter account on September 11 and 12, 2025. The tweets addressed both technical guidance for users of the TRIBU-CR system and new enforcement measures regarding customs regulations.

On September 11, the ministry announced a new instructional resource with the message: “Publicamos el tutorial: ‘Uso de contraseƱa temporal en TRIBU-CR’ https://t.co/HGNzbjzMVP”. This tweet was posted at 19:00 UTC.

Later that day, at 22:22 UTC, the ministry communicated stricter oversight of customs compliance by stating: “HACIENDA INTENSIFICA CONTROLES Y APLICARƁ CIERRE TEMPORAL A NEGOCIOS QUE INCUMPLAN NORMATIVA ADUANERA https://t.co/3jMUbQGjSG”.

A third post was made in the early hours of September 12, containing only a link without additional context: “https://t.co/Yep2Pd0QJh”.

The Ministerio de Hacienda is responsible for managing Costa Rica’s public finances and enforcing tax and customs laws. Its recent communication reflects ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and to provide guidance for users interacting with government digital platforms.
