The Ministerio de Hacienda de Costa Rica used its official X account to communicate with taxpayers in early January 2026, sharing information and links related to tax obligations.

On January 9, 2026, the Ministry posted a tweet containing a link: “https://t.co/gH2H64p2tx”. Later that day, it issued a notice directed at specific taxpayers: “A CONTRIBUYENTES DEL IMPUESTO AL VALOR AGREGADO (IVA) QUE DECLARAN EN EL RƉGIMEN GENERAL Y EN EL RƉGIMEN ESPECIAL AGROPECUARIO (CUATRIMESTRAL)

Para mayor información ingrese en el siguiente enlace: https://t.co/nhqMg5tYTqhttps://t.co/C5bw3e7IzL” on January 9, 2026. The message was aimed at VAT taxpayers who declare under the general regime or the special agricultural regime on a four-monthly basis and provided additional information via an external link.

On January 12, 2026, another post was published by the Ministry including only a link: “https://t.co/oI14SWczkA”.

The Ministerio de Hacienda is responsible for managing Costa Rica’s public finances, including tax collection and oversight of fiscal policy. The agency regularly uses digital channels to inform citizens about their fiscal responsibilities and provide updates regarding taxation processes.
