The Ministerio de Salud de Costa Rica used its official social media platform to address several public health and social issues in early March 2026. The ministry highlighted International Women’s Day, vaccination against measles, and the importance of preventive healthcare for at-risk populations.

Later that day, the ministry addressed disease prevention with a focus on measles: “El sarampión es una enfermedad que se puede prevenir.

On March 9, 2026, the ministry emphasized the significance of prevention for people with risk factors: “Su bienestar inspira esperanza.

International Women’s Day is observed globally each year on March 8 to recognize women’s achievements and promote gender equality across all sectors of society. Measles remains a significant concern in various regions worldwide; however, vaccination campaigns have proven effective in reducing outbreaks and protecting vulnerable groups such as children and immunocompromised individuals. Preventive healthcare continues to be a central strategy in public health policies to improve overall population well-being.
