The Ministerio de Salud de Costa Rica has used its official social media platform to promote public health initiatives and environmental practices through a series of posts in late March 2026.

On March 27, the Ministry emphasized the importance of immunization in preventing measles. Measles remains a concern globally due to outbreaks that can occur when vaccination rates drop, making public awareness campaigns essential for maintaining herd immunity.

Composting is recognized as an effective way to manage organic waste and improve soil quality while reducing landfill use and environmental pollution.

On March 30, the Ministry introduced an initiative supporting caregivers: “CUIDAR + es una credencial que acredita a quienes se dedican al cuido de adultos mayores o personas en situación de dependencia.” This credential aims to formally recognize individuals providing care for elderly people or those with dependency needs, reflecting ongoing efforts to support vulnerable populations within Costa Rica’s healthcare system.

Costa Rica’s Ministry of Health regularly communicates preventive health measures and environmental recommendations as part of its broader mission to safeguard public well-being and sustainability.
