The Ministry of Health of Costa Rica published a series of messages on November 11, 2025, addressing topics related to nutrition, mental health, and community action against dengue. The posts were shared through the institution’s official social media account.
In its first message of the day, the Ministry emphasized the importance of healthy eating habits: “#Lunes de Nutrición, descubra cómo los buenos hábitos alimentarios pueden mejorar su calidad de vida y contribuir al bienestar de todos.Este es un mensaje de las GuÃas Alimentarias para Costa Rica.” (posted on November 11, 2025). This message forms part of ongoing efforts by the Costa Rican government to promote national dietary guidelines aimed at improving public health.
Later that day, the Ministry addressed mental health in families with a post stating: “Las emociones también se educan. Cada gesto, palabra y mirada construyen la salud mental de tus hijos. CEN-CINAI te invita a escuchar, validar y acompañar con empatÃa para fortalecer su autoestima y bienestar emocional desde casa.” (posted on November 11, 2025). The reference to CEN-CINAI highlights collaboration with national programs focused on child development and family well-being.
In its final post for the day, the Ministry called upon residents in Santo Domingo de Heredia to participate in an initiative targeting mosquito-borne diseases: “Cuidar de la salud es nuestra responsabilidad. Vecinos de Santo Domingo de Heredia, entreguen sus llantas en desuso en la campaña de recolección organizada por nosotros en alianza con #Fundellantas, trabajando juntos para evitar los potenciales criaderos de mosquito del dengue” (posted on November 11, 2025). This campaign aims to reduce potential breeding sites for mosquitoes that transmit dengue by collecting used tires—a known habitat for these vectors.
Costa Rica has historically faced challenges with vector-borne diseases such as dengue. National campaigns often encourage citizens to eliminate standing water and dispose of items like old tires that can serve as mosquito breeding grounds. These public initiatives are part of broader efforts by authorities to improve both physical and mental health across communities.
