The Ministry of Health of Costa Rica used its official Twitter account to highlight the importance of mental health and suicide prevention in a series of posts published on September 9 and 10, 2025. The messages coincided with World Suicide Prevention Day and aimed to encourage open dialogue about mental health issues.

In another post from the same day, the Ministry emphasized personal acknowledgment and communication: “Reconocer lo que se siente.
Hablar no te hace débil, te hace humano.

World Suicide Prevention Day is observed annually on September 10 as an initiative led by international organizations to raise awareness about suicide prevention and promote mental health support worldwide.

Costa Rica’s Ministry of Health has previously engaged in public campaigns to reduce stigma around mental illness and improve access to support services for those at risk.
