The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT) has completed the improvement of several local roads in the canton of San Pablo de Heredia. The project was carried out through the Second Program for the Cantonal Road Network (PRVC II MOPT BID) and involved collaboration with the Municipality of San Pablo.

The upgraded roads, identified by codes C.4-09-007, C.4-09-008, C.4-09-010, and C.4-09-012, cover a total distance of 1.4 kilometers between Parque de Las Cruces and the border with Santo Domingo canton.

According to MOPT, “This project was developed jointly with the Municipality of San Pablo and was formally handed over last Friday to this local government for its maintenance, so that its stability and durability are ensured.”

Work on these roads included improvements to the road surface and drainage system. These changes are expected to increase service levels, functionality, and structural capacity along these routes.

To enhance road safety for both pedestrians and drivers using these roads, vertical chevron signs and delineators were installed.

A total investment of $481,833 from PRVC II funded the improvements. The program’s executing unit is located within MOPT’s Directorate of Public Works.
