Each year, Costa Rica marks the Day of Poetry to honor Jorge Debravo, a significant national poet. This observance was established in 1996 through executive decree Nº 25134-C. The day aims to recognize poets and encourage artistic achievement across all backgrounds.
The celebration seeks to motivate artists by acknowledging their contributions and promoting Costa Rican representation at cultural events globally, regardless of culture, gender, age, or socioeconomic status.
In addition to poetry celebrations, the International Day of Education is also observed annually to highlight the role education plays in peace and development.

For students finishing primary and secondary school who will take part in the expanded session of the National Standardized Summative Test this February, MEP has prepared several online materials to support them.
