The Department of Documentation and Electronic Information (DDIE), part of the Directorate of Technological Resources in Education (DRTE) at the Ministry of Public Education (MEP), has launched a new website at https://ddie.mep.go.cr/.

The website is designed to provide information about services, products, and resources for students, teachers, administrative staff, central office employees, and library science professionals. It aims to serve both the national and international educational community.

Among its featured informational products are sections such as “Frase célebre,” “¿Sabías que…?,” “Gaceta al Día,” “Recomendaciones,” “Novedades DDIE,” and “DDIE Informa.” The platform also includes the Collective Catalog of MEP Libraries (CCB-MEP), which offers access to bibliographic and multimedia collections from DDIE and school libraries across 27 regional offices. Additionally, it provides digital resources, regulations, and guidelines for library professionals.

The services available on the site include technical advice—both group and individual—on document management and use of the CCB-MEP through the MEP Cataloging Center (CECAMEP). Users can also request registration for International Standard Book Numbers (ISBN) and International Standard Serial Numbers (ISSN) for all documents produced by MEP.

With this platform, MEP seeks to enable its community members and the general public to quickly find resources and services that support teaching and learning processes.
