The Ministry of Health announced on May 4 that the Regional Directorate for Health Regulation in Central Occidente will temporarily close its current office on May 7, 2026, due to preparations at a new location. No services will be provided at the current site during this period.
This change is intended to improve infrastructure and enhance service quality for the public. The Ministry said that people needing in-person services on May 7 can go to the Area Rectora de Salud San Ramón instead.
Starting May 11, 2026, the new office will be located at: 75 meters west of Banco de Costa Rica, Sam Ramón, San Ramón, Alajuela. The Ministry thanked residents for their understanding during this transition and described these actions as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional capacity.
“El Ministerio de Salud agradece la comprensión de la población ante estas medidas, que forman parte de los esfuerzos institucionales para mejorar la infraestructura y fortalecer la calidad de los servicios,” said the Ministry of Health.
Users are advised to plan ahead for their procedures and stay updated through official Ministry channels for any further information. The regular schedule remains Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
