The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT) and the National Road Council (CONAVI) announced on Mar. 23 that they will suspend all ongoing construction projects during Holy Week. The measure is intended to ensure the safety of drivers and provide smoother traffic flow as people travel to beaches and other destinations for the holiday period.

Projects affected by this suspension include works in Hatillos 6 and 8, areas near the María Aguilar river in Circunvalación, Caletas and Tárcoles on Route 34, the Barranca-Limonal project, interchanges at Grecia and San Ramón on Route 1, as well as works in the mountainous area of Route 32. According to MOPT, work will stop after Friday, March 27. All activities are scheduled to resume on Monday, April 6.

While machinery will not be present at these sites during this period, authorities emphasized that drivers should continue to exercise caution. Signage will remain in place at each location throughout the suspension.

The decision aims to minimize risks for travelers taking advantage of time off during Holy Week while maintaining clear passage through major routes under construction.
