More than 1,500 job openings will be offered to the public at the Hello Brete employment fair, which will bring together over 60 companies from various productive sectors, according to a March 18 announcement by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. The event is scheduled for April 13 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Antigua Aduana in San José and is free of charge.
The fair aims to connect job seekers with employers and provide access to training resources, including the launch of a new English learning platform designed to help individuals improve their employability. Participating companies include Cognizant, Grupo Purdy, Taco Bell, Align Technology, Securitas, El Lagar, Marketing Design, Café Rey, McDonald’s and Farmavalue.
Job opportunities span sectors such as tourism, hospitality, security, medical services, cleaning services, food industry, construction, social sector work, transportation, mechanics, electronics and administrative areas. This range broadens prospects for people with different levels of experience and education.
Minister of Labor and Social Security Andrés Romero said that “this effort, framed within the Brete strategy, will bring more than 1,500 jobs closer to people seeking entry into the labor market or looking for better job options. We have prioritized quality jobs in sectors with good employment prospects; therefore we invite people to take advantage of this great opportunity”.
In addition to employers recruiting talent for various positions during the event, several public institutions and organizations will offer guidance on training programs and scholarships. Christian Rucavado Leandro, Executive President of INA (National Learning Institute), said: “INA will come to the Hello Brete employment fair with a range of training services aimed at strengthening people’s employability with options in key areas such as administration, information technology (IT), languages and entrepreneurship. These training processes seek to develop skills aligned with current labor market needs and bring accessible training opportunities closer for those who wish to strengthen their professional profile or join the workforce. At INA we continue promoting spaces that connect training with new employment opportunities and productive development for the country.”
Technology skills are increasingly important for accessing higher-quality jobs—especially in digital services sectors—and innovation is shaping labor market demands. Minister of Science Innovation Technology and Telecommunications Paula Bogantes said: “Technology and innovation are transforming the labor market and the skills demanded by today’s economy. Spaces like Hello Brete allow people to connect with new job opportunities while highlighting the importance of strengthening capabilities related to technology innovation and digital transformation.”
