A man identified by the last names Peña Arias died on March 23 in a traffic accident involving a motorcycle, a bus, and a car in Los Ángeles de La Fortuna, San Carlos. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. as the victim was traveling home to his mother’s house in Sonafluca after eating in El Tanque.

Authorities said the crash happened when the bus stopped to let passengers off and, according to preliminary information, the motorcyclist tried to overtake and collided with a white Toyota Yaris. The impact left him trapped under the vehicle.

Police administered breathalyzer tests to both the bus driver and the woman driving the car; both tested negative for alcohol consumption.
