The first day of the Picnic 2026 music festival brought together thousands of attendees for a day filled with music, food, and entertainment at the Centro de eventos Pedregal on March 14. The event featured a variety of performances across multiple stages, with fans gathering to see both local and international artists.

The festival is significant as it offers an opportunity for music lovers to reconnect with their favorite performers and experience live shows in a festive atmosphere. Attendees enjoyed not only the concerts but also the vibrant environment created by vendors selling hats, sunglasses, and shirts outside the venue.

Costa Rican artist Shel Dixon opened the main stage with energetic performances that engaged the crowd under the afternoon sun. As evening approached, reggae musician Alpha Blondy delivered a message of peace during his set, calling for harmony between Israel and Palestine as well as between the United States and Iran.

One of the most anticipated moments came when Puerto Rican singer Yandel performed alongside 40 Costa Rican musicians from Orquesta Universal in a symphonic concert format. Fans reacted enthusiastically to this unique presentation, especially during songs like “Noche de sexo,” “Encantadora,” and “Rakata.” Other notable acts included Young Miko from Puerto Rico, Colombian artist Aria Vega performing her viral hit “Chévere,” De la Rose, Ozuna—whose show experienced a delay but maintained high energy—and Mexican rock band Maná.

Maná’s lead singer Fher Olvera addressed the audience after their second song: “Hay caras muy jóvenes pero aquí estamos disfrutando, vamos a echar toda la carne al asador.” The night concluded with attendees singing along to classic hits late into the evening.

As Central American fans united through music at Picnic 2026’s opening date, anticipation now turns to what surprises may come during the festival’s second day.
