Hours before polls open for the 2026 elections in Costa Rica, supporters from several political parties gathered at the Fuente de la Hispanidad in San Pedro de Montes de Oca and other locations across the country.

Since the afternoon, party flags representing Coalición Agenda Ciudadana (CAC), Frente Amplio (FA), Unidad Social Cristiana (PUSC), Liberación Nacional (PLN), Pueblo Soberano (PPSO), Nueva República (PNR), and Partido Liberal Progresista were seen at this well-known spot in San José. The Costa Rican national flag was also present.

A team from La Nación observed that activity remained lively past 8 p.m. on Saturday. Eliécer Feinzaig, presidential candidate of Partido Liberal Progresista, joined the celebration.

A caravan featuring different parties filled Avenida Segunda with flags. This avenue runs from downtown San José to the Fuente de la Hispanidad, where a large group had gathered.

During the afternoon, La Nación documented political caravans led by candidates Claudia Dobles (CAC), Ariel Robles (FA), and Juan Carlos Hidalgo (PUSC). Their supporters traveled through streets in San Pedro and converged at the Fuente de la Hispanidad without incident.

The celebrations were not limited to San José. The digital outlet Heredia por Media Calle broadcast live from Heredia’s main avenue, showing vehicles and people waving various party flags.

San Carlos Digital shared video footage of PPSO supporters parading through Ciudad Quesada by car. In addition, Juan Carlos Hidalgo of PUSC led a vehicle caravan there as reported by local media.

On Facebook, user Lizbeth Valverde posted images of a multi-party caravan in Los Santos. Other social media users shared videos of similar gatherings in San Ramón and Naranjo in Alajuela province; Occidente en 24 horas provided a live stream from San Ramón’s streets.

In Limón province, Comentarios al día posted images showing cars and people waving flags despite rain conditions.
