Deportivo Saprissa will be without defender Óscar Duarte for the second leg of the final against Alajuelense, scheduled for Saturday, December 20 at Alejandro Morera Soto Stadium. Team doctor Allan Soto confirmed Duarte’s absence after the player suffered a right knee injury and left the field just 15 minutes into the first half.
Soto provided details about Duarte’s condition: “Óscar suffered a distorting trauma to his right knee. This Thursday morning we are going to do an MRI to determine the severity of the injury and how long recovery will take.”
When asked by media if Duarte could play on Saturday, Soto said it was very unlikely. The defender left Saprissa Stadium on crutches with his right knee immobilized.
“It is complicated, honestly. We are going to do tests and, after analysis, we will define his situation and issue a medical report. His right knee had not had any major injuries before. We will wait for the results,” Soto added.
