Saprissa FF will face Liga Deportiva Alajuelense in the women’s football classic at Estadio Ricardo Saprissa on April 1, according to an announcement made on Apr. 2.
The match is significant as both teams are currently in playoff positions, with Alajuelense leading the standings and Saprissa FF following in second place. The game is scheduled for Wednesday at 8 p.m. and will be broadcast by TD Más.
Alajuelense has won all eight of its matches so far this season, accumulating a total of 27 points. Saprissa FF, which recently lost to Chorotega in Nicoya, holds second place with 19 points. Prior to that defeat, Saprissa’s only loss was against Alajuelense during the first round of the tournament at Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto.
Other matches scheduled for matchday nine include Sporting versus Pérez Zeledón on Wednesday at 8 p.m., Moravia against Dimas Escazú on Saturday at 3 p.m., and Herediano facing Chorotoga on Saturday at 8 p.m.
