Television presenter Shirley Álvarez shared on March 12 new details about her wedding in Toledo, Spain, describing the event as a dream come true. Álvarez highlighted several aspects of the ceremony that were meaningful to her, especially the way she symbolically included her late father, José Enrique Álvarez Mejía.
José Enrique passed away in May 2025 at the age of 70, just two months before Álvarez married chef Daniel Vargas. To honor his memory, Álvarez included a photo of her father in her bridal bouquet. “Mi ramo de peonias con la foto de mi papá,” Álvarez wrote when sharing an image of the floral arrangement she carried during the ceremony.
Other details that stood out for Álvarez included the wedding venue, a photo session at the church, having her daughter walk her down the aisle, using a vintage car, and providing umbrellas and fans for guests. The reception featured all attendees seated at one table to create an intimate and joyful atmosphere.
Álvarez also mentioned enjoying entering the celebration with great joy, personalized keepsakes for guests, cutting the cake with a sword, wearing a second dress during the festivities, and choosing green as the color for her bridesmaids’ dresses. She emphasized that above all these details, what mattered most was sharing this moment with her husband.
The ceremony combined personal touches and family memories to create an event that was both intimate and significant for those involved.
