The Killers performed before an audience of about 16,000 people at Parque Viva in Costa Rica on March 25. The concert marked the band’s return to the country after their previous show in 2018 and featured a setlist of 19 songs.
The event drew both longtime followers and younger fans, highlighting the band’s lasting appeal across generations. Many attendees had waited years to see The Killers live, with some traveling from other countries such as Honduras specifically for the concert.
Costa Rican band Entre LĂneas opened the evening. “This is the dream of my life… we are proud to open for one of our favorite bands,” said Mau Madriz, vocalist of Entre LĂneas.
As the main act began at 8:25 p.m., lead singer Brandon Flowers greeted the crowd in Spanish: “ÂżCĂłmo están, ticos? ÂżCĂłmo la están pasando… pura vida? Si hay algo con lo que pueda ayudarles, por favor háganmelo saber; creo que vinieron a pasarla bien esta noche.” His words were met with enthusiastic cheers from those present.
Throughout their performance, The Killers played songs spanning their more than two-decade career. Highlights included classics like “When You Were Young,” “Human,” and “Mr. Brightside.” The band visited Costa Rica following appearances at international festivals AsunciĂłnico in Paraguay and EstĂ©reo Picnic in Colombia.
The night concluded with fans singing along to several hits as confetti filled the air. For many attendees, it was a memorable experience that demonstrated music’s ability to unite people regardless of age or background.
